Have you ever used samples for drum replacement or even drum layering?
It used to be you labored for hours…
You grab a sample from the session, or from a sound library and you manually replace every drum hit one-by-one, adding your own dynamics. (Some STILL do it this way)
Then along came the trigger plug-ins.
Trigger plug-ins saved a lot of time, but we quickly learned not all are created equal.
Upon close scrutiny of their results, you can see that they are not always exact.
There are blips, glitches, timing errors…
Now, it’s not so bad if you’re just adding a triggered ambience to a snare, you may let it slide…
But layering a kick?
A little delay in a trigger can create disastrous low end phase problems.
Well we have an easier way for you…
Watch as Gobbler mentor Pete Dowsett (Abbey Road Institute) shows you how to get sample accurate drum replacement using a combination Slate Digital’s Trigger and Massey’s DRT plug-ins.
It may save you hours, and your mix!
