McDSP NR800 Noise Reduction
The McDSP NR800 is a real-time noise reduction processor, useful for music production, post production, and live sound, that operates with no internal latency, and does not contaminate the original source material.
The One Plug-in You've Been Missing For Noisy Tracks
We’ve all been there before…you have a great track, and when you solo it, just to be sure, there it is. That pop, tick, or hiss that is driving you crazy. What do you do?
There are many noise reducer plugins on the market these days. Many use transform-based processing, that can contaminate the original source, leaving artifacts on your track. That’s where the engineers at McDSP really stepped up, and changed the game.
All the real-time noise reduction processing power you need….with ZERO artifacts!
Introducing The McDSP NR800 Noise Reduction
The NR800 is a real-time noise reduction processor, useful for music production, post production, and live sound, that operates with no internal latency, and does not contaminate the original source material.
The NR800, like all McDSP plug-ins, comes with plenty of presets to get you started. Wind in your dialog? Noisy guitar amp? Too much leakage from the toms getting into the snare? The NR800 has those scenarios covered at lots more. Spend some time with the preset library in the NR800 and see what it can do
It is truly a game changer!!
Now You Can...
Easily Remove Unwanted Noise
Clean up your tracks exactly the way you want thanks to several noise reductions, from smooth to aggressive!
Deliver Clean Dialog Without Artifacts
Approach your mix with the confidence and certainty that all your tracks are “clean”!
Speed Up Your Workflow
The Snap Gain and Snap Threshold features automatically set all 8 noise reduction band gains and thresholds based in incoming signal levels!
Fix Severe Noise Problems
With the “x2” feature, which doubles the noise reduction amounts in all bands, you can even fix noise problems that are more severe.
Reduce Drum Bleed
Too much leakage from the toms getting into the snare? The NR800 has you covered
Get Control of Your Noise Floor
Really zero in on any offending frequencies and eliminate the noise completely with 8 focusable noise reduction bands, each with it’s own threshold and noise reduction amount!
How Does The McDSP NR800 Noise Reduction Work?
The NR800 operates on mostly broadband frequencies, but can also be focused in a narrow portion of the frequency spectrum using noise reduction focus points. But a set of input filters can also be configured and set at frequencies independent of noise reduction focus points. Several noise reduction modes (NR Mode) are available from smooth to aggressive noise reduction amounts. The Range control can be used to scale the overall noise reduction from 100% to 0%. An ‘x2’ mode will also double the noise reduction amounts in all bands when noise problems are severe. Each of the 8 bands in the NR800 has a noise reduction amount fader and noise detection threshold marker, and may also be individually bypassed or soloed to audition incoming noise amounts. All of this amounts to one thing….being able to mix with confidence!

- McDSP Emmy Awarding winning engineering
“I’m completely amazed that it will remove the unwanted noise, yet retain the sound. Other NR plug-ins will either add artifacts and change the original sound. Not the NR800.”
– Dean Landon (Songwriter- Producer – Composer)
“The NR800 is an important part of my dialog chain. It works seamlessly in the background keeping the noise floor down while maintaining the integrity of the dial. If I do need to get more aggressive it gives me the flexibility to zero in on the noise and still make the dial sound natural. Thanks McDSP. Another winner!”.”
